The MoU, which was signed by UoN Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi and Nairobi County Governor, Dr. Evans Kidero will be of great benefit to the university’s College of Health Services (CHS) students.
According to the MoU, UoN’s medical students will be attached to existing and new research projects in the county. This will enable them get enough experience after being on attachment in various health facilities being run by the county government.
Prof. Mbithi welcomed the partnership saying UoN and Nairobi County have had a good working relationship since time memorial and this will be of much benefit to the institution since UoN will be using the county’s resources. Prof. Mbithi said that through the partnership, medical research and clinical care related to infectious diseases will be conducted.
On the other hand, Dr. Kidero said that the Nairobi County government will be committed to ensure the MoU is fully implemented as agreed.
The signing of the MoU was witnessed by Prof. Henry Mutoro, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, CHS Principal, Prof. Isaac Kibwage and some officials from Dr. Kidero’s office.
