The University of Nairobi officially launched the Nairobi Innovation Week roadmap on 8th April, 2016.

The event which was held at the Vice Chancellor’s parlor was graced by VC Prof. Peter Mbithi.

Also in attendance were Mr. Christopher Fabian, Senior Advisor on innovation to the Executive Director at UNICEF, Ms. Cynthia McCafferey, UoN staff, and members of the press.

The 2nd Nairobi Innovation Week is scheduled to start from 1st to 5th August, 2016 under the theme: Partnerships for innovations that truly impact people and societies.

UNICEF is UoN’s lead partner of the event. Other partners are from the private sector, development partners, government and academia.

During the event, ProF. Mbithi said the event will have a regional outlook and will attract over 1500 delegates.

He said the activities that will take place during the event will include pre-events, workshops, boot camps, keynote presentations, panel discussions, exhibitions, pitching platforms, graduation of startups as well as dissemination of research publications. In addition, there will be international and local key guests who will facilitate workshops and give keynote presentations besides participating in panel discussions.
