MSAUN (Muslim Student Association of the University of Nairobi) is an association that brings together all Muslim students in the 10 chapters of The University of Nairobi.
 

History:


MSAUN was founded on the 2nd April 1981 in the spirit of unifying Muslim students in The University towards the course of Allah
Motto:
The society’s motto is the Quranic verse:
“Hold fast to the covenant of Allah and do not be disunited”
[Al-Imran 103]
 

Vision:

 

To be the media through which Muslim Students participate actively in the propagating Islam by fostering co-operation, unity and development of the Muslim Ummah, guided by the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah.

 

Objectives:

 

  • To reaffirm and uphold faith in the fundamental teaching of the Holy Qur’an and to promote better understanding of the teaching of Islam found therein.
  • To play an active and collective role by and through whatever means deemed appropriate for the interest and general welfare of the Muslims within and without the University.
  • To establish friendly relations and with foster mutual understanding between MSAUN and other bodies.
  • To plan, establish, and maintain fund generating projects which are compatible with Islamic teaching as source of income for the organization.
  • To do any other activities connected with or incidental to the above mentioned objectives.
  • Msaun shall be non-political.

 

Aim:


• Our basic and fundamental goal is to unite the Muslim Population of the University of Nairobi and provide the best Islamic and academic environment.

MSAUN KNH Chapter has the most vibrant Muslim and medical community with a student committee that envisions the upholding of the teachings, values and the principles of our religion- Islam. We have brothers and sisters who come together frequently to learn more about their religion. The respect, love and unity that exists among the Muslim student of this campus is one that can only be adored and followed by any group of Muslims that want to create an ideal Muslim community.


“All Praises be to Allah for giving me this opportunity and prospect to lead this association, that comprises students in the medical fraternity, who will be expected to lead the nation- an International prosperous healthy nation, is determined by Quality Health Care and International Education Standards. The members are obliged to uphold high spiritual and moral character both in or out of the college in regard to the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah of Our Beloved Prophet (S.A.W).

• Ramadhan Iftaar(Breaking the fast) and Suhuur program
• Annual MSAUN KNH IFTAAR DINNER- Introduced in 2014/2015
• Annual orphanage visit- organised by second years.
• Ramadhan weekly Da’awah( Chaplaincy) session
• Eid day breakfast and lunch
• Weekly Chaplaincy sessions- In Knh and Chiromo.
• First years registration and orientation
• First year MARHABA(welcoming) day
• First year revision session
• Finalist farewell Lunch
• Second year revision session- introduced in 2014/2015
• Annual sports day
• Sisters’ sleep over
• Annual blood donation day
• A series of one day medical camps within Nairobi
• Annual diabetic screening and hypertension awareness day
• Hospital visit- organised by second years
•Annual two day Surgical and Medical camp
•Advanced Traumatic Life Support (ATLS) training session for the finalists- Introduced in 2014/2015
•Annual General Meeting(AGM)
